How would a group of Chicago area runners be able to support social enterprise? With a “Girls Night Out.”

Fleet Feet Sports in Chicago is promoting a Girls Night Out event at both of their Lincoln Square and Piper’s Alley shops. It’s a shopping event with several giveaways, goodies and even product demonstrations. The night will give several loyal Fleet Feet customers the opportunity to try out and learn about the newest running gear and hear from a couple of keynote speakers, including an 11-time Ironman winner.

It’s a great shopping event but what does this have to do with helping a social enterprise?

To attend the event, participants are required to buy a $10 admission ticket. ALL of the proceeds of the event go towards funding for HHR partner The Enterprising Kitchen (TEK). Using an event geared towards women to help support an organization that empowers low-income women to create a brighter future is a great way for Fleet Feet to help their community. They’re using their customer base and interests to inspire a new way to help others.

In what ways do other organizations use their customers or resources to help those around them?
